In a process of cold pressing, the seeds are broken into smaller pieces and run through steel rollers or a piston-like cylinder to squeeze out the oil. This method helps to keep the all useful vitamins and microelements. Only the subtle odor remained.

While hot pressing the seeds are warmed up to 120 degrees and pressed like in cold.  In a result of temperature increasing the humidity is exuded and we receive more product in the end. This oil has an intense odor. The oil received by pressing has name “crude”.  It should be filtrated to separate lees after settling. The extraction – is a chemical method of getting oil from seeds. Here the special organic solvents are used (benzene). The process is taking place in the order-related equipment  –  extractors. The seeds are infused in a solvent and then benzene is evaporated.

The difference between refined and unrefined sunflower oil

The vegetable oil became a necessary part of healthy, nutritious food. The edible oil contains a lot of vitamins, which are able to keep your health and defend cells from destroying. As this product is one of the most demanded on the World market, it would be interesting to find out the difference between refined and unrefined oil.  In a process of refining, oil is settled, filtrated then the alkaline environment is neutralized and cleaned up with absorbing substance to clarify the product. All these stages are for coarse flavor and smell eliminating.

It is very important for storing and using in cooking of dishes.  Purified product has light and transparent color and does not spume, burn or scale while heating up. Unrefined oil has a strong odor, flavor and is pretty good for salads and cold dishes. This oil has a darker color and if does not used for a long time the lees appear. And you can’t use this oil for cooking or frying because of forming harmful for human health carcinogen.

What salutiferous influence do these oils have?

Refined oil loses almost all useful elements in a process of filtration. The best way for its using is cooking hot plates and frying. Moreover, its keeping time is quite long and there are no special demands for storage.

“Crude” unrefined oil is a very healthful product for using in cooking. Being rich in vitamins, microelements, fatty acid unrefined oil has an enormously positive influence on an organism. Its storage is not so long as refined oil has and you should keep it in a glassware in a dark, cold place.
